Mahavir Jayanti holds an immense importance among Jain community people.
This festival has been celebrated on 4 April 2023.
They celebrate this day to mark the birth anniversary of the great Tirthankara of Jainism.
He was born on the 13th day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra.
Mahavir Jayanti celebrates the birth of a great Tirthankara of Jainism.
He is known to be a teacher who propagates the dharma in Jainism.
Lord Mahavir was the son of king Sidhartha and Queen Trisala. He was born in Kundalagrama, Bihar, on the 13th day of the Hindu calendar month Chaitra in 599 BC as per swetambars while the Digambar Jains believe he took birth in 615 BC.
