  • The Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais released the book titled 'Gateway to the Sea: Historic Ports and Docs of Mumbai Region' at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on June 22, 2024 (Saturday). 
  • The book is published by Publications Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The book consists of 18 articles by renowned authors compiled by the Maritime Mumbai Museum Society (MMMS).
  • The Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais felicitated MMMS and 17 writers and two editors on the occasion.
  • He also encouraged the citizens of Mumbai to learn about their ancient maritime history. 
  • The book was also presented by the Publications Division in collaboration with the Asiatic Society in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. The invitees included historians and history enthusiasts.
