Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the name of Patalpani Railway Station in Indore will now be Tantya Mama Railway Station.
Tantya Mama is revered as a tribal hero. Patalpani is his workplace.
Notably, the Habibganj railway station in Bhopal was recently renamed after the tribal queen Rani Kamalapati.
Tantya has been a great freedom fighter of the tribal community. Born in 1840 in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, Tantya Bhil was so brave that the British gave him the name ‘Indian Robin Hood’.
