President Gitanas Nauseda has secured re-election for a second term as President of Lithuania after defeating incumbent Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte in the run-off presidential election held on 26 May 2024.
Nauseda, who is not affiliated with any political party, emerged victorious despite facing tough competition.
Gitanas Nauseda first assumed office as President of Lithuania in 2019 after winning the presidential election against Ingrida Simonyte.
His victory in the 2024 election marks his second term in office, as per the Lithuanian constitution, which limits presidents to serving a maximum of two terms, each lasting five years.
