Lieutenant General Nav Kumar Khanduri took over as the Western Army Commander.
He reviewed the Guard of Honour and paid tribute to the Bravehearts at the war memorial at Chandimandir Military Station.
He is the first Air Defence Officer to be appointed as an Army Commander.
Prior to his appointment as Western Army Commander, he was the Director General of Operational Logistics and Strategic Movement at Army Headquarters.
