  • Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has appointed Tablesh Pandey as the Managing Director of the company. 
  • Pandey will assume office on or after April 1 till the date of his superannuation.
  • Tablesh Pandey is currently the Executive Director of the country's largest insurance company.
  • Earlier, the Financial Services Institutions Bureau had recommended M Jagannath and Tablesh Pandey for the post in the state-owned insurer.
  • Last week, LIC had appointed Siddhartha Mohanty as the interim Chairman for three months with effect from March 14.
  • M Jagannath also served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of LIC (Lanka) Limited, Colombo, Sri Lanka for a period of 4 years between 2009 and 2013.
  • LIC presently has four managing directors.
