Lt Governor VK Saxena nominated Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gahlot to hoist the national flag on Independence Day, bypassing other senior government leaders.
Previously, the general administration department had declined instructions for Education Minister Atishi to host the flag, as directed by minister Gopal Rai.
