  • Renowned tabla maestro and Padma Vibhushan maestro Zakir Hussain passed away at the age of 73.
  • Ustad Zakir Hussain was awarded the Padma Shri in 1988, the Padma Bhushan in 2002, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2023. He won his first Grammy Award in 2009. In 2024 he also won 3 Grammys for 3 different albums.
  • In 1973, he launched his first album 'Living in the Material World'.
