Kokichi Akuzawa, 102, from Japan, became the oldest person to summit Mount Fuji on August 5, 2025, earning Guinness World Records recognition. Climbing with his daughter, granddaughter, and friends, he overcame past health challenges and trained for three months to prepare. Though he admitted the climb was harder than before, group support helped him succeed. A retired engineer, Akuzawa said mountains symbolize equality and progress, calling the achievement a cherished final memory.
