  • Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar from Tamil Nadu has been nominated as a member of the National Commission for Women. She is presently a member of the BJP’s national executive committee.
  • The order issued by the NCW Director said that the nomination is for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge or till the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
  • Besides Sundar, the Centre has also nominated Mamta Kumari and Delina Khongdup as members of the commission.
  • After marking a long stint in the acting industry, Khushbu joined politics in 2010.
