The Central Government has recently approved the establishment of Khelo India State Center of Excellence in Ladakh.
This center will be established in Spituk of Leh district of Ladakh.
In this centre, emphasis will be laid on training for sports like athletics, boxing and archery.
This center will be constructed under the supervision of Sports Authority of India (SAI).
The construction of this center will be completed in the next 2 years.
This initiative represents an unprecedented scientific approach to the development of sports in the Union Territory.
