  • The Central Government has recently approved the establishment of Khelo India State Center of Excellence in Ladakh.
  • This center will be established in Spituk of Leh district of Ladakh.
  • In this centre, emphasis will be laid on training for sports like athletics, boxing and archery.
  • This center will be constructed under the supervision of Sports Authority of India (SAI).
  • The construction of this center will be completed in the next 2 years.
  • This initiative represents an unprecedented scientific approach to the development of sports in the Union Territory.
