Khalid Jamil, a former Indian international footballer and current coach of ISL team Jamshedpur FC, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian national men’s football team. With this appointment, Jamil becomes the first Indian in 13 years to lead the national team. He rose to prominence after guiding Aizawl FC to an unexpected I-League title in 2017. The decision was made by the executive committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) from a shortlist of three candidates.
