  • The Karnataka government has decided to give transgender people a 1% reservation in all ranks of the police force.
  • The state has released the job advertisement for the post of Special Reserve Sub-Inspector in Karnataka Police and Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), giving details of reservation for transgender.
  • Karnataka has become the first state to reserve jobs in public employment for transgender persons following a direction by the Karnataka High Court in July 2021.
