The Karnataka government has decided to give transgender people a 1% reservation in all ranks of the police force.
The state has released the job advertisement for the post of Special Reserve Sub-Inspector in Karnataka Police and Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), giving details of reservation for transgender.
Karnataka has become the first state to reserve jobs in public employment for transgender persons following a direction by the Karnataka High Court in July 2021.
