India’s 17-year-old Kajal Dochak clinched the gold medal in the women’s 72kg category at the U-20 World Wrestling Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria. In a fiercely contested final, she defeated China’s Yuqi Liu 8-6, adding to her reputation as reigning Under-20 Asian champion. In addition, Saarika won bronze in the women’s 53kg category by beating Poland’s Ilona Valchuk, while Shruti secured bronze in the 50kg event after defeating Germany’s Josephine Wrench 6-0. India also earned success in the men’s Greco-Roman category, with Suraj winning bronze in the 60kg division.
