Justice Ritu Bahri became the first woman Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.
In October, Justice Ritu Bahri was appointed as the working judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
On November 2, 2023, the Supreme Court collegium recommended his nomination for the post of Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.
Governor General Gurmeet Singh administered the oath of office to the new Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court.
