  • Dr. Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi was recommended for the position by the Supreme Court Collegium on 27-12-2023, and his appointment as the 15th Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court was notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice on 03-07-2024.
  • Dr. Justice Sarangi succeeds Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, who retired on 28-12-2023, as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.
  • Before his elevation to the High Court of Orissa, Justice Sarangi had 27 years of regular practice at the Bar before the High Court of Orissa and the Supreme Court.
