  • Retired Supreme Court judge Justice Ashok Bhushan has been appointed as the chairman of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT).
  • The central government has selected Justice Bhushan as the tribunal's head for a four-year term.
  • Justice Bhushan will serve for four years or until he reaches the age of 70, whichever comes first.
  • Its first chairperson Justice SJ Mukhopadhaya had retired on March 14, 2020, and since then it was functioning with Acting Chairpersons.
