  • Nalin Prabhat, a 1992 IPS officer, has been appointed as the Special Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police and will take over as Director General after R R Swain's retirement on September 30, 2024.
  • Prabhat, with a distinguished career including roles in the CRPF's Kashmir deployment and Andhra Pradesh anti-Naxal force, was previously the Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG) before his current appointment.
