  • Ajay Kumar Singh, a 1989 batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre, has been appointed as the new Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP). 
  • The notification in this connection was issued by the state government on Tuesday. 
  • Neeraj Sinha, a 1987 batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre, retired on February 11, following which the post of state DGP was lying vacant.
  • He also served in several posts in various capacities like the deputy inspector general of Hazaribag and the additional director general of the special branch and the criminal investigation department.
