Ajay Kumar Singh, a 1989 batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre, has been appointed as the new Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP).
The notification in this connection was issued by the state government on Tuesday.
Neeraj Sinha, a 1987 batch IPS officer of Jharkhand cadre, retired on February 11, following which the post of state DGP was lying vacant.
He also served in several posts in various capacities like the deputy inspector general of Hazaribag and the additional director general of the special branch and the criminal investigation department.
