India Optel Limited (IOL) has signed a collaboration agreement with Safran Electronics & Defense to locally manufacture two high-precision, combat-proven systems: the SIGMA 30N Digital Ring Laser Gyro Inertial Navigation System and the CM3-MR Direct Firing Sight. The partnership, building on a 2024 MoU, will enable IOL to handle manufacturing, assembly, testing, and lifecycle support, enhancing the Indian Army’s operational readiness and strengthening India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem under the Make-in-India initiative.
A second effusive eruption began at Piton de la Fournaise on La Réunion on February 13, with lava flowing down the Grandes Pentes slopes.
