The state-owned Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and NTPC Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the generation and storage of renewable energy or other cleaner forms of energy, including gas-based power.
The energy produced will primarily be used to power IndianOil Refineries and other installations.
The collaboration is a first-of-its-kind initiative by two of India's leading public-sector energy companies.
The collaboration will contribute to the country's commitment to meet renewable energy targets and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
