  • International Wheelchair Day is celebrated every year on 1 March. On this day, wheelchair users around the world celebrate the positive impact that wheelchairs have on their lives. International Wheelchair Day is celebrated since 2008. There are millions of people around the world who need a wheelchair to make their life better and easier, but they are unable to get it. March 1 (01) is also a day to thank those people who understand the need of people suffering from mobility problems and provide them wheelchairs.
  • Keeping in view the importance of wheelchair, various types of programs were also organized on the occasion of International Wheelchair Day by the national institutes and overall regional centers under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
