  • Every year on October 29, International Internet Day is observed around the world to commemorate the first use of the internet. In 1969, this day commemorates the transmission of the first electronic message from one computer to another.
  • ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) was the name given to the Internet at that time.
  • The first International Internet Day was celebrated on October 29, 2005, to celebrate this momentous event in the history of telecommunications and technology.
