  • It marks the anniversary of the first day of the San Francisco Conference in 1945.
  • The purpose of the conference was to establish an organisation that would restore world peace and impose rules on the post-war world order.
  • In 2019, the General Assembly of the United Nations declared 25 April as the International Day of Delegates, commemorating the achievement of the San Francisco Conference.
