International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed every year on 29 November.
The resolution celebrating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People also encourages Member States to continue broad support and promotion of the celebration of the Day of Solidarity
A resolution to celebrate this day was passed by the United Nations General Assembly in the year 1977.
On this day in 1947, the General Assembly adopted the resolution on the partition of Palestine.
India was one of the first countries to recognize the State of Palestine in 1988.
