  • In the year 2007, the United Nations General Assembly adopted this resolution to start the International Day of Non-Violence.

  • According to Mahatma Gandhi, a core belief of nonviolent theory is that the power of rulers is derived from the consent of the people, so nonviolence attempts to destroy that power by withdrawing people's consent and cooperation.

  • Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 AD in Porbandar, Gujarat.
