In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the 'NOTA' (None of the Above) option received a significant 2,18,674 votes in the Indore constituency, following the Congress candidate Akshay Kanti Bam's switch to the BJP and the Congress urging voters to choose NOTA.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shankar Lalwani won the Indore seat by a substantial margin of 10,08,077 votes, setting a new record for the highest number of NOTA votes in a constituency.
Nationally, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) crossed the majority mark early, leading in around 300 seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc is ahead in over 230 seats, defying many exit poll predictions.
