  • Authorities have raised the alert status for Mount Ibu to the highest level in Indonesia's four-tiered system due to two consecutive days of massive eruptions.
  • The volcano, which is known for its frequent activity, has been spewing ash and smoke up to 5,000 meters into the sky, indicating a significant increase in volcanic activity and prompting urgent precautionary measures.
  • In response to the heightened volcanic activity, approximately 400 residents from seven nearby villages within a seven-kilometer radius of Mount Ibu have been evacuated to designated shelters.
  • Authorities are urging all residents to avoid the designated exclusion zone, which extends from four to seven kilometers from the volcano's summit, to ensure their safety and minimize the risk of harm.
