  • India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has appointed Rohit Rikhye as the new Head of its Operations Control Centre (OCC), replacing Jason Herter after the December 2025 operational disruptions.
  • Following widespread delays and cancellations, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation imposed penalties of ₹22 crore on the airline and ordered corrective measures, reflecting strict oversight in India’s aviation sector.
  • Rikhye, with over 11 years at IndiGo, previously served as Chief Pilot—Standards, Quality Assurance and Operations Safety, overseeing training and compliance. As OCC head, he will manage real-time flight operations, crew rostering, dispatch coordination, and adherence to Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), ensuring smoother and safer airline operations.
