India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has appointed Rohit Rikhye as the new Head of its Operations Control Centre (OCC), replacing Jason Herter after the December 2025 operational disruptions.
Following widespread delays and cancellations, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation imposed penalties of ₹22 crore on the airline and ordered corrective measures, reflecting strict oversight in India’s aviation sector.
Rikhye, with over 11 years at IndiGo, previously served as Chief Pilot—Standards, Quality Assurance and Operations Safety, overseeing training and compliance. As OCC head, he will manage real-time flight operations, crew rostering, dispatch coordination, and adherence to Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL), ensuring smoother and safer airline operations.
