  • A team of international scientists led by marine scientist Sherin Sonia Cubelio is studying biodiversity and marine resources in the Ross Sea, which includes environmental DNA studies, mapping of zooplankton and fish populations. 
  • This area, spanning 1.55 million square kilometers, has been declared a marine protected area where fishing is prohibited, ensuring the conservation of emperor penguin colonies and marine ecosystems.
