The Indian Ocean Tuna Commission meeting is being held from 28 November to 2 December.
This meeting is being organized in Mumbai.
This meeting is being held on data collection and statistics.
It has brought together renowned scientists and experts in the field of tuna fisheries from all over the world.
Tuna fish and other large pelagic species, such as billfish, sharks and shellfish, are very important economically.
The tuna trade has an estimated annual value of US$41 billion.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Indonesia, France and Spain, other EU countries, Seychelles, Tanzania, Iran, Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka, Oman and India.
