  • Recently the Indian Ocean Rim Association meeting was held in Sri Lanka.
  • This was the 23rd meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association.
  • Sri Lanka was represented at the meeting held in Colombo.
  • After this meeting Sri Lanka was handed over the chairmanship of IORA.
  • Sri Lanka will now be the Chairman of IORA from 2023 to 2025.
  • Earlier, this organization was chaired by Bangladesh from 2021 to 2023.
  • The Indian Ocean Rim Association was established in the year 1997.
  • At present it has 23 member countries of the Indian Ocean region.
