  • The Indian Navy will conduct the fourth edition of 'Pan-India' coastal defence exercise 'Sea Vigil-24'.
  • The fourth edition of the XC Vigil will be on an unprecedented scale in terms of both geographical reach and magnitude of participation, involving 06 Ministries and 21 Organizations/Agencies.
  • The Coastal Defence and Security Readiness Assessment (CDSRE) phase of the exercise was conducted by naval authorities of all coastal States and Union Territories (including Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands) from the end of October 2024.
  • It involves a thorough audit of the entire coastal defence and security infrastructure.
