  • The Indian Navy has received the stealth destroyer 'Imphal' in October 2023.
  • Stealth Destroyer 'Imphal' has been constructed under Project 15 (B).
  • It is the third destroyer built under Project 15(B).
  • This destroyer has been built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited.
  • Imphal is a guided missile destroyer.
  • This is the third destroyer in the stealth class after Visakhapatnam and Mormugao received by the Indian Navy.
  • It has a displacement of 7,400 tonnes, overall length of 164 metres, and is equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and sensors, including surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles and torpedoes.
  • Under Project 15 (B), the Defense Ministry has signed an agreement with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited for the construction of four guided missile destroyers.
  • The last destroyer of this project will be 'Surat'.
