  • A contingent of 334 personnel of the Indian Army today left for Nepal to participate in the 18th edition of battalion level joint military exercise Surya Kiran. 
  • The exercise will be conducted from 31 December 2024 to 13 January 2025 at Saljhandi, Nepal. It is an annual training event that is conducted alternately in both the countries.
  • The Surya Kiran exercise aims to enhance interoperability in jungle warfare, counter-terrorism operations in mountains and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief under the UN Charter.
