India has been awarded the ISSA Award 2025 for outstanding achievement in social security. The award, received by Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in Kuala Lumpur, recognizes India’s expansion of social security coverage from 19% in 2015 to 64.3% in 2025, benefiting over 940 million citizens. The e-Shram portal, registering 300+ million unorganized workers, and institutions like EPFO and ESIC were particularly lauded.
