India will start an e-medical visa facility for Bangladeshi nationals coming to India for medical treatment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced after a meeting between the two delegations in the national capital.
India will open a new consulate in Rangpur, Bangladesh, to facilitate services for people in the northwest region of the country.
The leaders of India and Bangladesh have initiated various agreements and projects, including trading in Indian Rupees, electricity exports from Nepal to Bangladesh via India, and cooperation on river management like the Ganga and Teesta rivers.
Both countries have focused on enhancing connectivity through projects like the sixth rail link between Jakhoda and Agartala, and initiatives in digital connectivity and economic cooperation, including talks on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
