India will observe National Flag Day on July 22, 2025, to commemorate the adoption of the Indian national flag — the Tiranga — in 1947. This day is a reminder of the flag’s role in unifying the nation and symbolizing India’s sovereignty and pride. The flag, originally designed by Andhra Pradesh freedom fighter Pingali Venkayya, initially featured the charkha (spinning wheel), later replaced by the Ashoka Chakra. The occasion will be marked across the country with tributes to the flag and its significance in India's independence journey.
