India achieved a major defence milestone as DRDO successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR-120) on December 29, 2025, at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Odisha. The rocket, with a maximum range of 120 km, demonstrated precise in-flight manoeuvrability and operational reliability when launched from an in-service Pinaka launcher. Developed by multiple DRDO labs, the test showcased India’s growing strength in indigenous precision-guided weapon systems and enhanced battlefield flexibility.
