For his victory on Wednesday in Singapore, Gukesh earned a whopping Rs 1.68 crore paycheque as per the regulations in place for the World Chess Championship 2024, as decided by the global governing body of chess, FIDE.
This means that Ding will also receive $200,000 for his victory in Game 1 over Gukesh.
