  • The Vedanta group and the Foxconn of Taiwan join together to build India’s first semiconductor manufacturing unit in Dholera of Gujarat. 
  • Under the Gujarat Semiconductor Policy 2022-27 the plant is being constructed and the MoU to construct the semiconductor plant was signed in 2022.
  • The Vedanata-Foxconn’s semiconductor manufacturing facility is likely to get huge subsidies and incentives, like zero stamp duty on land purchase and subsidised water and electricity, under the ‘Gujarat Semiconductor Policy 2022-27.’
  • Gujarat, with its semiconductor policy, had become the first Indian state to have such a dedicated policy for the semiconductor and display fabrication sector.
