India's first diabetes biobank has been set up in Chennai, created in partnership between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF).
The main objective of the Biobank is to study the causes and unique patterns of diabetes in which different types like type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes will be analyzed through blood samples.
