  • India's first diabetes biobank has been set up in Chennai, created in partnership between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF).
  • The main objective of the Biobank is to study the causes and unique patterns of diabetes in which different types like type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes will be analyzed through blood samples.
