India Ranks Second Globally in LEED-Certified Green Buildings

India ranked second worldwide outside the US in LEED-certified building space in 2025, reflecting its push toward sustainable real estate. With 16 million square metres certified, India follows China and shows strong growth in green building adoption. Much of the progress comes from improving efficiency of existing buildings through LEED O+M certifications. The ranking highlights India’s commitment to environmentally responsible urban development.
