In 2023, India became the second-largest user of anti-dumping measures globally, following the US, with 45 investigations initiated and duties imposed in 14 cases.
India reduced its average tariffs to 17% from 18.1% in 2022 but increased its use of anti-dumping duties to protect domestic industries from unfair trade practices.
