India's rank on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) for 2023 is 93 out of 180 countries.
In the previous year (2022), India was ranked at 85, sharing the spot with five other countries, including Maldives.
The CPI is an annual index released by Transparency International, a global civil society organization.
India's score on the CPI for 2023 has dipped by one point compared to the previous year, standing at 39.
The CPI ranks countries and territories based on their perceived levels of public sector corruption, with scores ranging from zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).
