  • India is ranked tenth in Germanwatch's global Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2022, which was released on the eve of the COP26.
  • According to the report, no country performed well enough in all index categories to achieve a CCPI rating of very high. As a result, the top three spots in the overall ranking are once again unoccupied. Denmark is the highest-ranked country in the CCPI 2022, ranking fourth, but it does not perform well enough to achieve an overall very high rating.
  • Thus India, at 10th slot, is the seventh country.
  • In 2020, India was also ranked tenth.
  • India has maintained its position as one of the top ten best-performing countries in terms of climate performance for the third year in a row.
