  • The Indian delegation participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) held in Singapore on 6 June 2024.
  • The delegation was led by Shri Sunil Barthwal, Secretary, Department of Commerce.
  • The IPEF Ministerial Statement of 14 November 2023 announced the substantial conclusion of negotiations for the Comprehensive Agreement on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Clean Economy, Fair Economy and Prosperity. 
  • "IPEF countries have completed legal review of the elements contained in these agreements and domestic approval processes," it said.
  • The member countries of IPEF signed these agreements today are the first of its kind approach to address the challenges of the 21st century and strengthen economic engagement in an important region. 
  • India actively participated in the signing proceedings and the Ministerial discussions.
