India hosts the ISO Council Meeting in New Delhi, showcasing its prominence as the world's largest consumer and second largest producer of sugar.
The meeting aims to foster international cooperation among over 30 countries to address critical issues in the sugar and biofuel sectors.
A workshop titled ‘Sugar and Biofuels – Emerging Vistas’ will be inaugurated by Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New & Renewable Energy.
This event brings together over 200 delegates, including international experts and industry leaders, to discuss sustainability, global perspectives, and the role of farmers in biofuel production.
Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Global Biofuel Alliance initiative, the meeting aims to strengthen international collaboration on sustainable biofuels.
Discussions will focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through ethanol production from sugarcane, highlighting India’s technological advancements in biofuel production at the industrial tour in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
