India has emerged as the world’s third-largest clean industry hub with 65 large-scale projects worth over $150 billion. These initiatives could generate over 2 lakh jobs, advancing India’s green transition. However, only six projects have reached the Final Investment Decision (FID) stage due to high costs, regulatory delays and lack of long-term contracts. Concentrated in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, these projects mainly in clean ammonia and methanol are supported by the Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) to boost sustainable industrial growth by 2026.
