  • India will donate USD 85 million over 10 years (2022-2032) to support the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre (GTMC) in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
  • The agreement was signed by Arindam Bagchi, India's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, and Dr. Bruce Aylward, WHO Assistant Director-General, during a ceremony at WHO Headquarters in Geneva on July 31.
  • The GTMC will serve as a key knowledge hub for evidence-based Traditional Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM), aiming to enhance global health and well-being.
